Tata Safari DiCOR

Safari 2.2 DiCOR VX 4×4 introduced in 2009 has a top speed of 152km/hour and is perfectly safe for sharp turns with a turning radius of 6 meters. The interior is upgraded to beige leather upholstery with a wood finish on the central console. New front grille along with bumper grille adds a sporty look to Safari’s exterior. In the latest Safari VX you have a rearview camera with a screen on internal rearview mirror, which enables safe reversal. To impress European prospects, Tata Motors is now complying with European safety standards, with an Antilock braking system to improve control and avoid jerks. In case of an accident, driver is protected through Anti-submarine seats and 3-stage collapsible steering column to ensure safety of the driver. Heated side view mirrors adjust electronically to provide a clear view.

Tata Motors is planning to launch an upgraded version of SUV in 2011 that will address the current problems of Safari with a more powerful engine and less weight. While drivers admire the off-road driving experience of Tata Safari, some concerns prevail regarding the weight of SUV accumulating to 2225 kg, which hinders quick movement. Some drivers complained against the noise that is produced in humid environment and slow start of Safari when the engine is cold. Critiques are still dubious about the actually outright performance of Safari on road, while some good hopes subsist for the upcoming version in 2011, which is expected to be more rigid and better handler.
